We’re always going to celebrate our employees here at the Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort! How could you not when our teams are here day in-and-out facilitating smooth & efficient operations. The struggle for us is choosing just one (1) employee to be awarded our annual BE EPIC champion. This employee exemplifies Grand Pacific Resorts values of Balance, Empowerment, Enthusiasm, Passion, Integrity, and Consistency day after day inspiring others to do the same. Without further ado, congratulations to Lorenza Mendez for being awarded the 2022 BE EPIC champion at the Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort!
Lorenza has been with the Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort since July 2003! Wow! 20 years sure flies by when you’re having fun at the Carlsbad Inn. Lorenza started as a room attendant in our Housekeeping team and over the years moved into a housekeeping supervisor role due to her passion and consistency. She continuously balances her own workday responsibilities as well as assisting her team members or training new associates. Her willingness to learn new programs such as Knowcross and Docebo has made her an integral part of the team as she can implement and educate new & current associates adapt to new programs/procedures. Lorenza is also always eager to further continue her own education by signing up for MiraCosta classes offered at the resort. We love seeing her progress within her work and personal life and being proactive to better her future! Her attributes, attitude and positivity make her an extremely respected and valued member of the Carlsbad Inn family.
Next time you’re here at the resort for your timeshare week or staycation in the Hotel please be sure to congratulate Lorenza on her BE EPIC champion and other achievements! Actually, give her double the compliments because this is her 2nd time- I repeat, 2nd time receiving this award! We cannot say thank you enough and can only hope to continue watching her grow.

Do you have any siblings and/or pets? I have 2 sisters. We all live here in San Diego.
Favorite hobbies? I enjoy walking the Carlsbad coastline/seawall and reading.
What inspires you? Traveling and exploring new cities and national parks.
If you could have any super power, what would it be and why? Time traveling- specifically the past.
What is your favorite band/music? I love everything.
Favorite vacation that you’ve taken? Cancun! I toured Chichen Itza and other Mayan ruins.
What is your favorite part about working at the Carlsbad Inn? Meeting new guests/owners as well as my co-workers. We are a great team at the Carlsbad Inn!
