We’re extremely fortunate here in southern California to have such amazing weather year round. Our Summer season is a consistent mid- 70’s to 80 degrees along the Pacific coast and going into our Autumn season we experience similar temperatures. September and October are easily are nicest months every year so we highly recommend vacationing with us during this time of year. Our warm temps allow us to still frequent the beaches and warmer ocean waters in addition to numerous other outdoor activities. Experiencing these warmer temperatures gives us the chance to still get outdoors easily each day and host seasonal activities and events!
This coming October you can experience an epic party here in Carlsbad about 10 minutes from the Carlsbad Inn! Oktoberfest can be easily argued as one of the largest parties across the globe each year. Traditionally, the party starts in late-September and runs through early October in Germany but this festival has spread to hundreds of cities & communities across the world. Oktoberfest is a celebration of German and Bavaria culture, food, dancing, music and beer. Carlsbad hosts its version of this famous celebration on Saturday, October 1 at the Carlsbad Strawberry Company. Carlsbad’s Oktoberfest and Family Fall Festival is an annual tradition and this year the event runs from 12pm-8pm. You can expect German inspired foods like bratwurst, strudel & pretzels in addition to numerous beer options at the Bavarian Bier Garten along with games- we encourage wearing a lederhosen for maximum fun! Other family-oriented activities include a petting zoo or face painting, magic shows and science expo in the kids zone. Be sure to purchase tickets quickly through the Carlsbad Rotary Club so you don’t miss out on this party.
What’s Halloween without goblins, witches or pumpkins? The Carlsbad Strawberry Company may not be able to help with witches or goblins but they’ve got pumpkins covered! If you’re in need of some Fall photography with the family or significant other or just looking to get out and walk around then you should definitely check out the Pumpkin Patch! The Carlsbad Pumpkin Patch is located right off the I-5 and Cannon at 1050 Cannon Rd. Activities for the family include a pumpkin patch ideal for updating your social media profile, a petting zoo with sheep & goats, tractor rides, flower fields of lavender & marigolds and a corn maze. These attractions are open until November 8 so you have time to plan for these activities.
If you’re looking to get your heart pumping a bit more be sure to consider the Haunted Corn Maze! The haunted maze is located in the same vicinity as the pumpkin patch and open every Friday and Saturday in October from 7pm-10pm. Tickets are $25/person and open to all- be prepared as we’re sure you’ll be a bit spooked!
If you’re looking to get out trick-or-treating with the family this year then you should definitely consider the Brick-or-Treat Monster Party event at LegoLand California. Did you know the LegoLand California is located right here in Carlsbad about 10 minutes from the Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort? This years party is monster themed and opens in September through October 29 every Saturday and Sunday, October 30. The park is transformed with Halloween decorations and different themed zones. Park rides are transformed into spooky attractions and trick-or-treating is plentiful. Live entertainment and shows are also available for the whole family- be sure to plan accordingly with tickets/times and be dressed in costume for the parade and costume contest.
The first Sunday of November every year the city of Carlsbad hosts one of the largest one-day street festivals across the country! This year, Sunday November 6 you can expect to see 750+ vendors & merchants about two blocks from us- running from Coast Hwy 101 to Madison along Grand Avenue. Vendors are selling items such as clothing, arts & crafts, antiques and more from across the world. Other events include a pancake breakfast, international food festival and children’s rides. The one-day street festival runs from 8am-4pm.
