Around Carlsbad and Village small strides are taking place to slowly get back to somewhat normal. The City of Carlsbad allowed beaches and some parks and trails to open for active visitors and I have to say I could not be happier to see people back at the beach and everyone seems to be keeping a reasonable distance. The Farmer’s Market re-opened with a new set-up to allow for implementing policies from San Diego County requiring distancing and safety measures. Several Village restaurants have remained open for take-out including Linda’s and Norte at the property, both are seeing steady flow of business. Norte’s has done an impressive job of setting up distancing measures and protections, even on what is usually their busiest day of the year (Cinco di Mayo) many locals came out to support their old favorite while staying safe! It is exciting to see how creative our extended Carlsbad Inn family has been and to share some fun news from one of regular entertainers, Celeste Barbier, you may have seen her perform during the Owner Luncheon and Expo or at a Bon Voyage party. She is amazingly talented and is being super creative with keeping folks entertained through a virtual concert every Saturday 2-5pm PST on facebook page . She also has a request line where she will call a loved one and sing to them live – a popular feature for Mother’s Day but a great gifting idea for birthdays or to just cheer someone up!
