At the corner of State St. and Carlsbad Village Drive, sits one of the newest restaurants to hit Downtown Carlsbad Village, Crackheads. Located near the Choice Juice in the Carlsbad Village Yard, this new restaurant packs a full menu of delicious breakfast sandwiches, coffee drinks, and a full bar of refreshments offering bottomless mimosas on Wednesday and during the weekends.
One of the more popular breakfast sandwiches is the Softy or the Spice Girl served up on a brioche bun. If sandwiches aren’t on your list, the other most popular breakfast item is the Breakfast Tots which is loaded with carne asada, bacon, chives, an over medium egg sitting on a bed of tater tots and crack sauce drizzled on top. During my visit to Crackheads, I tried the avocado toast as well as the sliders flight. With a nice creamy guacamole base that sits on top a piece of multi-grain toast, topped with bacon, tomato and an over medium egg; this combination is easy going well when you need a midday lunch treat.
If you’re the person who just wants it all, then try ordering the sliders flight. The 3 sandwiches (The Crackhead, Softy, and Cowboy) are all served up on King’s Hawaiian Rolls. The sweetness of the rolls serves perfect with some of the different toppings that are paired with the sliders.
Also if you are looking for a nice refreshing treat on a hot day, grab yourself a Honey Lavender Latte that the restaurants serve on tap.
Whether you are looking for a nice pet-friendly location to take down your friends at cornhole or if you are looking for a cozy spot to snuggle up with your loved ones next to some fire pits and sip on your bottomless mimosas, check out Crackheads the next time you stop by Carlsbad Village.
